Functional, but of questionable to minimal benefit on a good system
This app freed the most memory, in a (not terribly formal) test I did with four such apps. However, after several months of usage, I find that the results are not consistently practical, and this seems to be true of the competing products, too. The amount of processor time spent juggling memory around to try to squeeze out a few extra drops is rarely worth the slow-down, and I’ve experienced system instability since installing this product (in fairness, the competing ones also appear to have had the same result).
I can see this being useful for someone with very little RAM who is always running out of memory, and for whom this is the #1 problem. But for those of us with a lot of RAM, it will not relieve high "memory pressure", and the down-sides are not worth it running all the time, anyway. If you have 32+ GB of RAM and have run out, this app will not help you. You either have an excessive number of apps/pages open and need to close a bunch of them, or you have some runaway process or memory leak, and thus bigger problems than any such memory tweaker can solve. I probably wouldn’t use this except on a low-end laptop or old desktop that was limping along. On a powerful Mac Pro, it’s pretty useless.
