Memory Diag App Reviews

Not so bad

It’s got a nice look to it,m easy to use, and a sleek dark mode. I do miss the option of seeing the amount of RAM available in my menu bar however...

Not bad

Nothing I can really complain about. Good software overall. Thanks for the frequent updates and improvements.

What exactly does significant memory useage mean ???

Memory Diag gives me numbers for file cache, wired memory, compressed, app memory and then tells me significant memory usage by FireFox and Thunderbird. So, what are the numbers for those two apps and what can i do about that ? Stop running them ?

;(

“Upgraded” from FreeMemory app which no longer gets updated. Was dissapointed to see that there is no way to see amout of free memory right in the menu bar. Please add this feature. It made FreeMemory great a great app.

I yelled at it...

It does a great job, I’m still giving it 4/5, but when things are getting tight, and Firefox is acting up, and Parallels is sucking memory like a drunken sailor I DO NOT NEED the notifications contantly bleating “Memory pressure is critical” then “Memory pressure is bad" (or whatever it says), then back to “Memory pressure is critical”, etc, etc, every 20 seconds. I actually told my computer to shut up. My advice? Set up a timeout for the notifications. If it goes critical, and the notification comes up, set a timeout of 10 minutes before you do it again, because the user gets it, there’s a problem. No need to repeat yourself. As the user is shutting down things and clearing out memory they don’t need a klaxon going off. Again, remember. I actually told my computer to shut up. You don’t want to be the one responsible for that.

Quite the downgrade from FreeMemory

Unlike its predecessor, this app fails to deliver on two of its primary purposes: 1) Free memory when prompted 2) Display how much free memory you have in the status bar. Most of the time when I want to ‘optimize’ my memory usage, I can’t. That’s because too much memory is being used (counter-intuative, I know). The only remedy to that is to close memory intensive applications myself before it lets me click ‘optimize, which usually means closing the only application which is open: Firefox. For all it’s worth, this app occupies valuable real-estate on my screen telling me how much pressure is being exerted on my memory, without being able to do anything for it. The only reason I didn’t give this app 1 star is because I respect the developers enough to find a remedy for this flaw sometime soon.

Finally a new fresh feel

Before using memory monitor i was using free memory by the same company. After this new update they were able to make memory monitor more like free memory with its information display using simplified look instead of that piechart. allowing for a more customized menu allows for more options on the users end and i like that a lot.

Good!

Thank you for the much needed update! I now have removed my FreeMemory program and am now using Memory Monitor. Things I like about this: -Simplified Mode (I don’t need anything fancy to look at. I just need to know what’s going on) -Menu Bar settings have many options -Optimization seems to work better (for me at least) then FreeMemory did -The ability to tell me what Apps are using up a lot of my memory Things I would like to see: -Although I am happy to see the Auto-Optimize feature, I have no idea when it will kick in. I would like to make my own adjustments of when it should work automatically Definitely worth installing!

Wiped my bookmarks

It wiped the entirety of my Internet bookmarks. Hoping to get it fixed, I rebooted my computer… and then it wiped my computer preferences as well as my desktop background. Horrible update. I shouldve stayed with the normal FreeMemory because this is just making me want to cry. If it aint broken, dont freakin fix it.

Correct values and practical icon but FreeMemory Pro had nicer icon.

Excellent Utility!

This application is an excellent utility. It works perfectly on my MacBook Pro. On my Mac Mini, the tray icon shows as either no memory being used or memory cleanup is being performed. I don’t get an accurate read out unless I click on it and see what’s happening via the popup. Still, an excellent tool and I’m very happy with it.

Popup extra offers are a downer

This app will keep pumping stuff on your screen, offering you all sorts of other products of theirs.

nice tool

nice tool

Popup offers irritating

Its a good little app. Really useful. However, it and now it keeps advertising other offers to me that I don’t really want.

It performs well

Im very pleased with this application, but whats with the pop-ups?

Great App

Have never had a problem with pop ups others have had. Works well.

No Popup Problems

I have had the app for a year and a half never had issues with it. Only add I have saw was on Launch, but there is a nice little “Don’t Show At Startup” check box in the bottom left had corner. =D cheers

Great App

Simple and effective

Deleted because of the constant pop-ups

Constant messages about other apps on the App Store or telling me to rate the app on the App Store (1 time is good, 10 times is too many) were enough to make me look for a replacement app.

Very helpful!

I love it! It has an easy to use UI, small customizable options but still quite remarkable. Simple to use especially with the “one-click” optimize space, really saves memory usage. All-in-all I would suggest this app for anyone looking to keep their computer/laptop running smooth!
